The sound Darren plays is described as Melodic, Percussive and Soul Influenced.
More lately exploring a more emotive, progressive sound his sets are always varied.
Strongly influenced by Soul, UK Garage, Hip Hop and Classic House
it was in the late 90's when the love for all music took hold and
Darren was able to share his passion by becoming a DJ.
A regular DJ on the House scene in Southampton with several past residencies
allowed Darren to evolve the sound he now plays.
Highlights of his early career include warming up for Norman Jay MBE.
It was a pivotal moment "I realised that it was possible to play different genres within a set,
yet still create a sound" Darren often preferred the warm up sets,
as it allowed him to play the less obvious tracks and be more expressive with the music. Never afraid to drop a vocal or classic track,
Darren's latest mixes are very much about the mood, structure and musical elements. With new music as interesting as ever his experience allows him to combine new sounds with older tracks from his still ever growing collection.
The focus has moved on to production in 2018,
where the process has begun to get some of his ideas and influences into his tracks. "I feel inspired once again as when I first started in music, being able to make a sound from almost anything
and create something entirely new is exciting. With the constant evolution of technology, it make the possibilities endless". Whether it be his DJ Mixes, Re-edits or original productions, the reason Darren got into music still applies.. to play music that people enjoy.
